Moving In

It’s here! It’s here! My first book is published!

Check it out.

Diane, an old friend of Suzie’s, falls in love with the worst possible man, to her way of thinking. Responsible and respectable guys? She knows can’t handle them. So when she thinks Trigvey Taylor is a bum, she’s merely bothered. When she finds out he’s a doctor, that’s when she really scrambles.

Trigvey is tough. He can handle anything the ER throws at him. Right up until he can’t. When a mistake results in the death of a patient, his world crumbles. It’s up to Diane to pick up the pieces. If only she could do it without turning into the kind of person for whom she has the least respect – a housewife.

Here’s a short excerpt:

“Hey, I’m going to need a little help here.”

“Help?”

“Could you hold my burger in front of my face? I don’t want to take my hands off the steering wheel.” He pulled out of the drive-thru lane into a grocery store parking lot.

“You want me to feed you?”

“I’m hungry!”

“You’re like a little boy.” She unwrapped his burger in brisk motions, but instead of cramming it in his mouth, she carefully and gently held the burger up for him.

He took a bite, and got sauce on his lip. When she touched a napkin to him, he almost veered into a parked car, and not just because she’d startled him.

“I’d better pull over.”

Diane picked at her burger, eyes intent on the pickle. “I was having fun.”

He pulled into a space facing the road and stopped. “Do you have any idea what would have happened to us if I hadn’t?”

She shrugged and continued staring down at her food, paying him no particular attention.

Trigvey took the burger from her, put it on the dashboard, and pulled her into his arms. “Imagine where the car would have gone when I did this—”

This book is set in Madison Wisconsinhe serial on my blog called Suzie’s House. It includes many of the Suzie’s House character – Suzie, Miranda, Ben, Gene, Vin, and Drew – but you could easily pick this book up without knowing anything about those character and still enjoy it. I hope you all get the chance to read it, and that you love it.

This book can be purchased here.

  2. Sqeeeeeee, Alice!!!! It’s finally here! Major congratulations!! Time to partay! We need music, drinks, food, and eye candy!

What about starting with the song Celebration? Donna, what was that drink called at Nationals? You know the one – it had peach schnapps, vodka, and cranberry juice, right? Am I missing anything?

Oh, and please pass me the torillas with the black bean and corn salsa. All this partying is making me hungry.

Ana, what eye candy is around today? Ana always knows where the best can be found. ;)

  8. OMG, Alice this is soooooo Joe. Every time we travel it’s tradition for us to get an Egg McMuffin for breakfast, and I have to carefully unwrap it and wait for the perfect moment. The perfect moment not exactly to feed him but to watch and wait until he has merged successfully onto the highway and I must have a napkin on his leg and hand him the McMuffin wrapped side to fit his right hand.

Go Alice! I’ll see you at 1pm at the party!
